Greetings All!
Sunburn, sunshine, and humidity....No I'm not talking about a typical day here in the islands, I'm talking about the Sunshine State itself, Florida! I just returned from an amazing adventure to Orlando, Florida where I wrestled swamp gators and picked oranges... yeah right! More like meet Shamu and 52 of the brightest, most talented, and most beautiful women in the nation! That's right I got to meet my fellow contestants for the Miss America 2010 pageant. How exciting!Comments [0]
Aloha Everyone!~
WOWEE! What a busy few weeks! Just a fun update...I met Honolulu Mayor, Mufi Hannemann on July 24 with some of my family members and some other very special guests. I was joined by two very lovely ladies, Candes Mejide Gentry, Miss Hawaii 1999 and Pilialoha Gaison, Miss Hawaii 2006. These women are true examples of the grace and wealth of knowledge of the Miss Hawaii sisterhood!Comments [0]
I often find myself asking God, "Lord, why me?!" But He lovingly replies through a friendly call of congratulations from a friend, or running into someone at the supermarket who just read an article about the newly crowned Miss Hawaii. He has given me so much and yet I still can't imagine what I did to deserve all this support. I'm writing this blog to somehow, amidst all my overwhelming emotions, continue to give thanks. I thank God, thank family, thank friends, and thank everyone who believes in what Miss Hawaii represents.
It's hard to put into words just how accepting I am of this position. I tell everyone, " Being Miss Hawaii is my full-time job." This phrase has never been more real for me. I understand that the role of Miss Hawaii won't always be easy. In fact it comes with a great deal of responsibility, but I've never been more ready to embrace those challenges.
I finally realized how all of my life's experiences have paved the path for this very day. I am an optimist and I believe that HOPE is not overrated. I believe in being faithful and spiritual and applying it to my daily routine. Hope is relevant to today. Faith is relevant to today. Love is necessary to survive. I believe that people are capable of such brilliance and don't believe that the term "maximize your potential" is a generic one.
I believe that everyone is destined for greatness, it's just of matter of seeing yourself at the next level and taking steps forward to achieve it. Speaking from experience, anyone and everyone has the power to overcome obstacles and manifest their dreams. I'll proclaim this from the mountaintops, you can do whatever you WILL to do...
I'm humbled by the support I've received in the past few weeks. Thank you to everyone who believes in Miss Hawaii, but most of all, believes in me, Raeceen. Which leads me to answer my aforementioned question... "Because I CAN, and because I WILL."

Aloha!
Please enjoy these great shots courtesy of Ms. Stacey Acma, Director of CMN Hawaii/Kapiolani Women and Children's Hospital. A great tradition was initiated this year by former Miss Hawaii 2008, Nicole Fox. Nicole contacted our new Miss Hawaii, Raeceen Woolford and invited her along to Kapiolani Hospital for Women and Children were they visited patients and extended their "Aloha" and shared fresh floral leis to those feeling a little under the weather...what a way to brighten up someone's day! Congratulations to Nicole for a great year of service and to Raeceen for a great start to what will be a fantastic year!
Mahalo,
Ryan Brown, E.D

Aloha Everyone!
It's me again! I hope you all had an awesome Fourth of July weekend, I know I did! I spent this weekend singing on New Hope Farrington's Vocal Team and performing a hula entitled, " I Call Him Lord". I want to thank the entire congregation of New Hope for all your support and love. Thank you for making my FIRST appearance on the Vocal Team so special.
I got to spend some time with my family at a beach BBQ! Hooray! It was so great to see everyone and catch up on the past week's exciting events;) It was like old times; the volleyball net, the Portuguese horseshoes, hibachi going, and of course... LOTS OF FOOD! Did I mention that I absolutely love red velvet cake, yuuuuummm! The weather in Kailua was spectacuclar accompanied by warm water and gentle breezes. It was a perfect day! Thank you to all my friends and family for coming!!
